Industry Development, a division within Statkraft reduces investor risk aiming at green industry sites and projects. Industry Development is a part of Statkraft - Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy, and a longtime facilitator for the power intensive industry. We will facilitate for new industry development by maintaining and developing the site portfolio through cycles with long lead times. Collaborations across the energy system, internally in Statkraft and with key external stakeholders, are key to succeed with industrial electrification. Our competence within site- and grid development is key to succeed with industrial development activities, e.g., hydrogen, wind & solar farms, district heating, battery production.
Norway has the lowest wholesale electricity price and energy tax rates in Europe. Our reliable, high voltage grid eliminates the need for back-up generators, reducing operating costs significantly. Furthermore, approximately 97% of Norway’s electrical production is renewable, reducing the global emissions footprint for investors.
Industry Development projects all major infrastructures, i.e. access to redundant high voltage power grid, redundant dark fibre access, roads, water and sewage. Investors also benefit from one the safest and most stable societies in Europe, with very limited economic and political risk.
We have cooperated closely with the power intensive industry for more than 125 years. Our facilitator role is a natural continuation of our role as Europe’s largest renewable provider. Investors will benefit from our rich heritage, long term stability and unparalleled expertise as the renewables powerhouse of Europe. In addition, Statkraft offers all kinds of short- or long-term power contracts, PPAs and market access services, in what is considered to be the most well-functioning power market in the world.
